Transforming a School Gym into a Full Dance Experience
For this May school dance in Coral Gables, Florida, the goal was to turn a familiar gymnasium into a high-energy event environment for approximately 150 students. Separate zones were created for the illuminated entrance, main dance floor, DJ area, photo experiences and live entertainment.
A 20 × 20 Pixel LED dance floor became the visual center of the gym. This programmable light-up dance floor also fits the way many clients search for an illuminated, glowing or custom LED floor. Behind it, four angled-square LED frames created geometric LED arches around the DJ area, while a second rectangular installation created a dedicated LED entrance tunnel / light tunnel.
The DJ was provided separately by the school or another vendor. Our role was to build the visual production around that setup while coordinating the other experiences we supplied.
